Therapeutic Massage is one of the best compliments to Physical Therapy and chiropractic care.  Because muscles are attached to bones and joints it is very important for them to be relaxed and stretched to aid in adjustments to the skeletal system.

Cranial Sacral Therapy is a complementary method used to restore the natural movement found between the bones of the skull and sacrum. The therapist applies subtle pressure with their hands to the head and the base of the spine of the clothed client.  The purpose of this is to aid the circulation of the cerebrospinal fluid throughout the Central Nervous System.

Swedish Massage is a firm but gentle pressure to ease muscle aches and tension, improve flexibility and create relaxation. Swedish massage uses long, gliding strokes, kneading of individual muscles, and friction. It reduces stress, both emotional and physical.

Deep Tissue Massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. When there is chronic muscle tension or injury, there are usually adhesions (bands of painful, rigid tissue) in muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Adhesions can block circulation and cause pain, limited movement, and inflammation. Deep tissue massage works by physically breaking down these adhesions to relieve pain and restore normal movement.

Zen Shiatsu is based on the principle that energy flows through the body in a series of pathways, called meridians. Sometimes the energy (ki) flow is disrupted or diminished and we may experience discomfort. Zen Shiatsu done on a regular and consistent basis can also strengthen the immune system and allows the body to shift into balance and addresses the root of the problem, not just the symptoms.

Reflexology is the physical act of applying pressure to the feet and hands with techniques that utilize little or no oil, cream or lotion. Technique application is assessed on the basis of zones and reflex areas.  Organs are mapped out on the foot and are supported during treatment.   While a state of stress is necessary for life itself, stress without interruption causes wear and tear throughout the body. Reflexology works because it taps into this basic body stress mechanism and interrupts the pattern of stress created by walking and other influences that create imbalance.  Let’s face it, who doesn’t love the perfect foot or hand massage.
